Stage III- Diagnosis

Diagnosis is a more intensive procedure and is used to determine the nature of the child’s problem. Different techniques like observation, interview, case history, informal tests and standardized tests may be used to obtain information.

The purpose of diagnosis is to answer questions about the problem and types of intervention that will help the child. The diagnosis provide more in depth information about the child’s problem. It includes ecological assessment of family and preschool settings.
