Lesson 04: Development of Language skills through ECE

Categories of language skills

By the time a child comes to an ECE centre he has already learnt and started using a language. So, in the ECE centre his language skills need to be further promoted. These skills are mainly: Listening, Speaking, Writing and Reading.

Therefore the main objective of an ECE programme is to cater to each of these skills by providing the necessary experiences to the children.
