Introduction

Child development centers are organized as a part of the public social service system, the education system, the philanthropic system and the business system. There is considerable difference in breadth and depth of service. These are philosophical differences that will guide management decisions. Though the breadth and depth of programs differ, the principles of managing the centers remain substantially the same. Generally speaking, the various philosophies have as common elements a stress on nurturing and educating young children and on accepting their individual differences in development.

Child development centers of different types based on the purpose they serve and also based on the philosophy behind the programme. Depending on the need, interest and availability parents select suitable child care programmes for the children.
