Lesson 28 : Legal and regulatory process -Licensing and Certification

Introduction

Child care center entrepreneurs are responsible for understanding licensing, certification and other regulations pertaining to provision of services for young children. Each type of regulation is developed by a governmental body and each has specific purposes. Entrepreneurs must understand which regulations apply to their programmes and ensure that all requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner and pay the requisite fees. Licensing includes licensing the people responsible for children’s programs and for protection of children’s health and safety.
