Observation of language development of infants (7-12 months)

Introduction:

Six to twelve month old babies understand and respond to gestures, facial expressions and changes in tone of voice. If someone asks, “where is mummy?” babies will look for their mother. Babies understand simple words such as “Da Da”, ba ba “and simple directions. Talking to the child, singing song helps the child to reproduce words and in acquisition of language skills.

Aim: To observe the language development of infants in the age range of 7-12 months.

Objectives:

  1. To develop the skill to observe the language development of infants in the age range of 7-12 months.
