INFANT STIMULATION PROGRAMMES 3 (0+3)

Module-9 & 10: Planning, Implementing and Evaluation of Stimulation Programme
for Infants (13-18 months)

Bird

Material required: Soft Cloth (2 different coloured materials), Scissors, Needle, Thread, Cotton.

Procedure:

  1. Cut the coloured cloth into a square.
  2. Fold it diagonally to a triangular shape.
  3. Sew the ends leaving a small opening to stuff cotton in it.
  4. Stitch up the opening after stuffing it with cotton.
  5. Cut tiny squares (3 nos) of 1x1cm of the 2nd coloured cloth.
  6. Stitch two for the wings and one for the beak as shown in the diagram.
  7. Cut a 2x2cm square of the 2nd colour and sew it for the tail.


Uses: This is helpful in visual and tactile stimulation

Variations:

  • By attaching an elastic cord to the bird it can be made into hanging a crib toy.
  • Series of such birds can be attached to form rows.
