Heating of RTE retort processed food consists of three main parts

1. Chemicals which can undergo exothermic reaction
2. A reaction chamber where chemicals are packed in suitable packaging material.
3. Ready to eat retort pouch kept in contact with the chemical pad.
4. The whole system is enclosed in an insulated pack to minimize heat loss.
