The Properties Of Sound

We have already learnt in our high school physics that sound travels in the
form of waves.
All types of sound have the following properties:

Wavelength can be described as the distance between any point on the wave and a corresponding point on the next wave; .

Amplitudeindicates the height of a sound wave, shown in Fig. 7.1(b)-how loud the sound is. The higher the 'height' of the wave, the louder it is. Amplitude also indicates how strong a sound is.

Frequency is the number of times the wavelength occurs in 1 second. If the sound source vibrates faster, the frequency is higher, and vice versa;. For example, if you examine the wave of the strums of
