It is the decision to make full use of an innovation as the best course of action available. In this stage farmer/farm women actually puts in to practice the new idea. This may be regarding adopting a practice or buying an equipment. However Rogers says that adoption may be active or passive.
By Active adoption he means that,is the process by which the farmer who takes up an innovation influences other farmers to do so. In other words, other farmers get influenced by the farmer who adopts the innovation.
By Passive adoption he means that the farmer who adopts the practice does not influence the other farmer to do the same. The innovation is confined to the farmer who has adopted. In the former situation, diffusion effect is more compared.
