Types of news assignments
Spot News Spot news is any unplanned event where little advanced planning is possible. Photographers will often hear of spot news events through a radio or a call from their photography editor or directly from a Police.
General News General news assignments give photographers a chance to prepare. Special film, camera lenses, and 'lighting needs can be anticipated. General news assignments usually take the form of a politician's press conference or a group of donors to a local charity.
