Press camera is extensively used by press people and it is costlier one.
Advantages The larger negative (usually 4 : x 5 :) will tolerate greater error on the part of the user, whether from faulty exposure, camera shake, imperfect focus on in processing. Negative can be retouched and enlarged considerably. Many adjustable controls for special situations including distortion control. Reasonably portable.
Disadvantages Film holders slow and limit number of shoots. Lenses (often 4.7) slower than those on smaller cameras, with less depth of field. Fast shooting impaired because shutter must be cocked, sides pulled, holders flipped. Relatively high film cost. Film holders need protection from bright light when loaded with super speed film.
