Editing and rewriting process

When the reporter has written enough to satisfy the requirements of the assignment or he said all he ought to say about a given topic, it is time to put his paper through the rewriting process. If he is the one of those students who composes on a word processor, he is a step ahead of the game; if not, use the process of going from hand written text to typewritten (word processed) text as one of the steps of rewriting. As he goes along, some spell checkers will underline words or otherwise alert him with beeps and whistles that words are misspelled or duplicated and he can fix those on the fly. Otherwise, he need not bother with spelling here; he can catch misspelling later. But one should watch for clumsy phrases in his writing and gaps in his thinking.

Formatting: The text, abstract, references, tables, figures and legends should be formatted so that they conform to the journal’s instructions.
