PROGRAMME PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION AND EVALUATION 2(1+1)
Lesson 10 : Abilities of Planners

Ability to clarify objectives of a programme and state them so that they are useful in guiding its execution

The ability to clarify and state objectives for one’s work includes

  • An understanding of the nature, purpose and the role of objectives.
  • Knowledge of levels and interrelation of objectives.
  • Skill in stating and using objectives to guide educational activities.

It is important to clarify objectives and goals because of two major reasons.

  1. Subject matter knowledge and methods necessary to achieve educational objectives can be appropriately chosen only when the objectives are specific and clearly stated.
  2. Evidence of the effectiveness of community development work can be observed only if the objectives are clearly defined.
