Size of the room windows and windowa treatment

Before deciding on a window treatment one should consider the room size. It is important that the treatment should be in scale with the size of the whole room. In a large room with small windows, the treatment should extend beyond the window and in proportion to the room. If the ceiling is high, a deep valence can be installed to lower them visually. In a low, ceiling room, a ceiling-to-floor treatment will act as a counter balance. When windows are very narrow, draperies hung beyond the frame will have a widening effect. A pair of windows that are too close together can be made to look like one by extending the side draperies beyond the windows and the central panels conventionally.
