Skipped Stitches

  1. Needle too small for the thread used.
  2. Needle not correctly inserted in the needle bar.
  3. Needle too short for the machine.
  4. Blunt or bent needle.
  5. If zipper foot is used, the edge of the foot is too far away from the needle.
  6. Needle hole in throat plate too large
  7. Pressure too light on the fabric.
  8. Upper tension too tight.
  9. Upper thread and bobbin thread of different size and /or type.

Remedies:

  1. Correct the thread tension.
  2. Use correct size needle for the fabric and insert it correctly.
  3. Replace blunt needles.
  4. Increase the pressure of the presser foot.
  5. Check threading order
