Material not feeding correctly

  1. Pressure incorrect for the fabric being sewn.
  2. The feed dog worn smooth. This can be determined by running the finger over the teeth. If they are not sharp, the feed dog should be replaced.
  3. Feed dog clogged with lint.
  4. The stitch regulator may have been turned back so far that the feed is entirely out of action.
  5. Needle may be bent.
  6. Spool of thread may jerk and catch if machine is operated too rapidly or at uneven speed.
  7. Stitch regulator incorrectly adjusted.
  8. Throat plate incorrectly positioned.

Remedies:

  1. Adjust pressure on the fabric.
  2. Clean the feed dog and replace worn out one with a new one.
  3. Replace bent needle.
  4. Check to see of the stitch regulator is set at Zero. If so reset the stitch regulator.
