PREPARATION OF BONES FROM ABATTOIRS

  • The aim in preparation of bones is
    • To select only those bones which contain gelatine
    • To deprive the bones of all the adhering fat, tendons, meat, sinews and blood.
    • To dry the bones.
  • During all the above operations, care should be taken that gelatine-yielding material is not lost through over heating.
