Natural vs Cellulose Casings

NATURAL vs CELLULOSE CASINGS

  • In comparing with the natural casings, cellulose casings are more uniform in size and can be extended in any desired sizes.
  • They are less subject to breakage and generally free of bacterial contamination than are natural casings.
  • Although cellulose casings must be placed before consumption of product the overall cost of using this is less than that of natural casings.
  • While being non-edible, cellulose casings can be manufactured into a variety of sizes and shapes as well as being easy to handle, resistant to breakage and permeable to smoke when moistened.
