PLANNING AS A FACTOR OF SOCIAL CHANGE

  • Social change could be planned or unplanned
  • Planning involves deliberate thinking, deliberate action and evaluation to assess the extent of changes in the society. Hence for effective planning we should understand the present and in its relationship to the past and future trends. Eg. Five year plans.
  • Unplanned changes occur in society due to natural factors such as cyclones, earth quakes, floods, tsunamis etc.
