Methods of computing the volume of earth work - Prismoidal formula method
Unit 7- Earth work calculations
Methods used to calculate volume of earthwork
Methods of computing the volume of earth work
Prismoidal formula method
According to this formula volume of earth work along a given line can be computed from the relation.
V= D/3 [(Ao+An+4(A1+A3+A5+………………….+An-1)+2(A2+A4 + A6 +A8+………………+An-2)]
This formula is applicable provided “n” is even. The smallest value of “n” for which Prismoidal formula can be applied is “2”b.
