Suitable and adequate drainage facilities shall be provided. There shall not be any floor area where water may collect and stagnate. Drains shall be constructed of smooth and impervious material and shall be designed to cope with the maximum flow of liquid without any overflowing and flooding. The drainage lines carrying water effluent except for open drains shall be properly vented and if required, run to a catch basin for removal of the solid waste material. Such a basin shall be located outside the processing area and shall be constructed of water proof concrete or other similar material. The openings of open drains, if any, which pass through walls, shall be fitted with metal grills to prevent the entry of rodents.

          The arrangements for disposal of wastewater and offal shall be done, in such a way that it shall not cause any sanitary problem to the neighborhood. The sewage from the toilet shall be disposed off in such a manner that the same shall not be accessible to flies and shall not contaminate the units’ water supply. There shall not be accumulation of waste or water of any kind in the premises and shall be drained off with a proper sewage system.
