For the purpose of central investment subsidy, the backward areas of the country have been classified into three categories: A,B and C. The amount of subsidy admissible to small industries in these three categories of areas is as follows: CATEGORY A: 25% fixed capital investment subject to ceiling of Rs. 25 lakhs. CATEGORY B: 15% fixed capital investment subject to ceiling of Rs. 15 lakhs. CATEGORY C: 10% fixed capital investment subject to ceiling of Rs. 10 lakhs.
