Causes of Maternal Deaths

Lack of proper care both nutritionally and medically results in a high maternal mortality rate as well as a high infant mortality rate. The various causes for maternal deaths are -

  • Post partum hemorrhage
  • Anemia
  • Sepsis
  • Infections
  • Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy Induced abortion
  • Chronic malnutrition
  • Psychological stress
