  1. Under weight

    Malnutrition can be due to:

    • Inadequate diet
    • Poverty and poor purchasing power.
    • Ignorance of parents regarding the child’s nutritional needs.
    • Lack of time as children are busy with school and extracurricular activities.
    • Emotional disturbance
    • Depression, poor motivation
    • Not considering likes and dislikes of the child

  2. Constipation

    Constipation can be due to:

    • Lack of green leafy vegetables, other vegetables and fruits in the diet
    • Less amount of fluids consumed
    • Lack of sufficient physical activity

  3. Dental caries
  4. Due to consumption of sticky sweets dental caries are common among children. They should be encouraged to take raw and crispy foods and good habits like brushing their teeth twice daily, should be inculcated.
