As life expectancy is increasing due to the control of various communicable and non communicable diseases, the percentage of elderly population is increasing. Aging begins at birth and continues till death. However 65 years is the point used to define the transition from middle to old age. Nutrition can influence the aging process and with proper emphasis on this aspect, the elderly can benefit and lead a better life. Good nutrition helps to maintain a healthy body and can therefore ease the aging process in many significant ways.
