Lesson 10 : Yokes

Straight yoke

1. Mark the 2/3rd level of armhole
2. Draw a straight line from this point of armhole
3. Separate the yoke from the lower portion of the bodice
4. Take a big sheet of brown paper
5. Align the drafting of the lower portion in such a way so that centre front touches the side of the brown paper and top edge touches the top of brown paper.
6. Trace out the drafting
7. Again align the drafting in such a way that top edge touches the top of brown paper and the centre front touches the side seam of the first traced out drafting.
8. Extend the length of bodice of the desired length of dress.
9. This drafting can be traced thrice for more gathers or far pleats.
10. Mark the grainline and write down the measurements to complete the drafting.
