Instead of running darts to the outer edges of the blouse in order to shape it, it is possible to distribute part or all of the excess along the edge of a yoke. A yoke in a blouse is a small section of pattern around the neck or across the shoulders used to support the lower section of the blouse, which is usually gathered along the yoke edge.
Good yoke spacing:
Pleasing proportion of yoke to lower section.
Yoke curves upward toward the sides
Poor yoke spacing:
Line divides the blouse into equal parts horizontally
Line droops downward toward the sides
Good spacing but poor line:
Line droops downward toward the sides.
