3.1.14.2.1 Control of Non-Sampling Errors

In some situations the non-sampling errors may be large and deserve greater attention than the sampling errors. While, in general sampling errors decrease with increase in sample size, non-sampling errors tend to increase with the sample size. In the case of complete enumeration non-sampling errors and in the case of sample surveys both sampling and non-sampling errors require to be controlled and reduced to a level at which their presence does not vitiate the use of final results.
