1.3.14.Charecteristics of the rigid class system

i. The membership in the caste is heredity and unchangeable for life.

ii. Marriage must be made the caste line.

iii. Contact with other caste or sub-castes in all aspects of life is strictly regulated and limited by the mores

iv. There is a caste name and often a traditional caste occupation. Each caste has its particular customs and control over the individual is exercised by his case.

v. The hierarchy if casted is well understood and strictly enforced according to its local variations
