Nutrient requirement for lactation in goats

NUTRIENT REQUIREMENT FOR LACTATION IN GOATS

Lactation

  • The requirements have been given on a production level of 0.5 to 1.0 kg/day.
  • The nutrient requirements should be provided according to the milk production potential of the goats.
  • The recommended lactation requirements include the maintenance requirement at different body weights.
  • On an average the lactation requirement is 345 g TDN and 45 g DCP per kg of 4% FCM over and above the maintenance requirement.
