FULL SIB CORRELATION

• Full sibs are relatives who have both parents in common.
• The coefficient of relationship between full sibs is 0.50.
• The cov between full sibs is due to ½ V_A + ¼ V_D + V_Ec.

• The heritability based upon full sib correlation is therefore often over estimated since it includes ¼ V_D+V_Ec.
• Therefore, the intraclass correlation among full sibs can therefore be used to estimate heritability of those character in which the effects of V_Ec and V_D are negligible.
