CLINICAL EXAMINATION

  • Examine the body parts of elephant calf including base of tail, perineum, external and internal ear regions, foot regions, trunk and oral commissures for evidence of any injuries.
  • See for the general signs of health in an elephant calf
  • Check the body temperature of the animal
  • Check for any pain causing lesion / areas to rule out the myositis like problems
  • Examine for evidence of any parasitic infestation.
  • Examine for signs of constipation like straining of animal during defecation with solid dung or signs of abdominal contraction but with no defecation activity.
  • Examine for signs of diarrhea
