BLOOD SMEAR PREPARATION

• Slides may be used to obtain the smears by using the standard laboratory technique by adaptation of toenail clipping technique in case of aviary species.
• However, use antiseptic solutions to prevent the contamination with microbes at the cut-areas of toenail.
• Cover slides may also be used in the preparation of slides, using standard techniques.
