• Second abdominal pleura overlap those of first.
• First two legs chelate.
• Gill filaments are thin plate-like, arranged in two rows on a central axis like the leaves of a book, termed phyllobranchiate.

Eg. Palaemon, Macrobrachium, Alpheus.

This infraorder consists of commercially important freshwater prawns.
