1.3.5.Primary and secondary group

i. Primary group - These generally have intimate face to face associations. The relationship is found to be personal. These have strong feelings of belonging.

ii. Secondary group – Among the members of secondary group there have been formality of contact and impersonal relationship.

Primary groups are relationship directed, and secondary groups are goal oriented. Primary groups, however, exist within the secondary groups and are found to be influencing in the decision making of the secondary group.
