1.3.12.Infromal Rural Institutions
A group of persons organising themselves for the purpose of fulfilling certain interests is known as an association. It is obvious that there can be many associations functioning in a community. Associations are organised for particular purpose. For instance, farmers’ association may be for the purpose of sale of goods, a club of fro recreation is the means of agencies through which their members fulfill their common needs. Associations are organized and have office bearers to control the functioning of the associations. Associations which have set procedures and rules of functioning are called Institutions. A college is an association of students and lectures but the educational; systems are an institution. |
