    Causal organism: Phytoplasma.
    Symptoms
    • Proliferation of floral parts, adherence of vegetative shoots formed by converted stamen & carpel.

    Etiology

    • It is prokaryotic, pleomorphic, obligate parasite, reproduction by binary fission.
    • Primary source of inoculum: infected plants.
    • Secondary source of inoculums: vectors.
    • Spread: Through Leaf hopper vector

    Epidemiology

    • A temperature of 28-320 C warm weather with relative humidity of 80-85 % favours the disease development.

    Management

    • Early diagnosis and burning.
    • Controlling vectors.
    • Spray of lannate (0.2 %), Indoxicarb (0.2 %), Imidacloprid (0.05 %) at 15 days interval.
