Aim of the Practical: Students will learn the importance of post-harvest management in mushroom cultivation and learn the technologies of preserving mushrooms for their long time storage .
  • Mushrooms are fleshy fungi which are soft, very tender, sensitive in texture and early perishable. Once a mushroom is harvested, it gets spoiled very quickly. Efforts should be made to sell mushrooms as early as possible in a fresh condition, otherwise these can be preserved and stored for a longer period in a dried or canned form.
