"A group of commercial crops of perennial nature, cultivated extensively in tropical and subtropical situations which need employment of labour through out the year and the produces of which are usually consumed after processing."

Definition in Traditional Sense

Plantation crops are those which are cultivated on extensive scale like tea, coffee and rubber. Here the term plantation or estate is used synonymously. Estate or plantation means large scale agricultural unit usually of a single crop.
