Systems of irrigation in arecanut

I. Traditional /Earlier methods
• Bunding and storing water in drainage/irrigation channels. Water is allowed to percolate.
• Splashing : Splashing water guided in to irrigation channels. Irrigation channels are usually of 20 cm deep and 45 cm wide.

II. Modern methods
• Sprinkler irrigation and Perfo methods : It is suitable for high density areca based multicropped plantations. ?
• Micro irrigation

2. Micro sprinkler irrigation
