Lesson 10 : Creative Environments for Children- Physical Facilities

Safety factors

1. Be sure that all low window areas are safe.
2. Beware of and remove toxic, lead-based paints and poisonous plant, particularly berry-producing plants from the garden besides school.
3. Cover hot pipes and radiators. Insert protective coverings over all electrical supply stores, is made especially for this purpose.
4. Install door knob locks that only adults can use in areas prohibited to young children.
5. Check the facility to make sure that there are no hooks, hangers or other sharp objects that protrude, especially at child level.
6. Make sure that there are adequate exits provided in the event of a fire or other emergency keep atleast one fire extinguisher in working order in the classroom.
