Concept

  1. A rural development is a strategy to enable a specific group of people i.e., poor rural women and men, to gain for themselves and their children more of what they want and need.
  2. It is empowering the poorest of the poor i.e., small farmers, tenants and the landless, who seek livelihood in the rural areas to demand and control more of the benefits of rural development.
  3. It is a process of enhancing the standard of living rural poor through increased production, productivity, employment, and mobilizing the land, labor and water.
  4. It is establishment of required rural infrastructure with the participation of people.
