Lesson 47:Role of Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Rural Development

Mandate

1. Conducting of On Farm Testing (OFT) for identifying technologies in terms of location specificity and sustainable land use system.
2. Organize training programmes to update the extension personnel with emerging advances in agricultural research on regular basis.
3. Organize short and long term vocational courses in agriculture and allied sectors for the youth and farmers with emphasis on learning by doing for higher production on farms and generating self employment.
4. Organize Front Line Demonstrations (FLD) of proven technologies to generate production data and feedback information.
