Even after the entry of radio and television, it has not lost its hold over the people and continues to play its powerful role as the informer and educator, as the purveyor of news and the molder of views.

Powerful institution
Today it has become more powerful institution, for it can comment on and criticize the functioning of the executive, legislature and the judiciary, it can make and mar individual and institutions, and it can divide and destroy nations as well as build them. Its reign and power are overwhelmingly vast.
