Lesson 13 : Training of Leaders

Need for Training of Leaders

The individuals who are selected as potential leaders by their village community are those persons who are trusted by the people of their areas and may be having some leadership qualities. They may lack some of the essential qualities of a leader and hence they would require adequate training to perform efficient roles of a leader and develop in themselves the essentials of a good leadership. Training of potential leaders is essential to improve upon their capabilities so that proper development of village takes place, which would otherwise be not possible. Trained leaders are quite strengthened to take initiatives for development which will speed up the execution of ongoing activities. Training of leaders is however, not a single step process, but rather a continuous process in which various levels of training are imparted to them according to the requirements. The training imparted to the leaders is such that they are able to perform successfully their generalized roles as well as specific roles in terms of particular group needs.
