Laissez faire leadership

This leadership style involves complete delegation of authority to the followers so that they can take decisions themselves. Laissez faire leader does not like to enjoy power and only serves as an intermediate link person to bring the information and resources needed by the followers.

Benefits

  1. Maximum opportunity for the development of followers.
  2. Complete utilization of skills, talents and potentials of the resources.
  3. Good impact on morale of followers.

Weaknesses

  1. No guidance and supervision to the followers by the leader.
  2. Leader’s contribution is almost negligible.
  3. Followers may move in different directions and may result in chaotic situation.
