Organizations in Programme Execution

Rural areas have a number of organizations at the local level, which play an important role in planning and execution of programmes and thereby help in improving rural life. These local organizations include:

    1. Schools
    2. Panchayats
    3. Cooperatives
    4. Banks
    5. Commercial establishments
These organizations inorder to play a key role in programme implementation have to maintain close contact with the extension agents and identify the areas of functional coordination. The extension organization meant for programme implementation is well equipped with technical knowledge, guidance, implements and other inputs, financial and other resources, hence there needs to be proper coordination between various organizations and institutions at the grass root (village) level to produce good results. Involvement of different organizations at the local level is therefore regarded as a necessary condition for successful implementation of extension programmes. The roles they play for successful implementation of programmes are described below:
