Lesson 15:Designing Commercial Space – Sports & Recreation

Flooring Materials

Tara flex flooring is a multipurpose sports surface and can be used for various indoor sports such as Table Tennis, Gymnastics, Badminton, Basket Ball, Volleyball and other Indoor Sports.
“TARAFLEX” synthetic sports floors are designed to combine shock absorption and other safety features without compromising performance.
The pure vinyl wear layer protects the flooring’s color and design.
Protective coatings resist scratches and stains, reduce the risk of friction burns and ensure easy maintenance.
“TARAFLEX” flooring works out to be economical than the conventional wooden floorings as it can be laid directly on the concrete surface.
The general advantages of Taraflex over wooden floorings are as follows: Three Layer System of Taraflex as against Single Layer System
Bottom layer of closed cell foam absorbs the shock of impact, protects athletes from stress injuries.
Middle layer of Fiber Glass provides dimensional stability.

Top layer of Textures PVC provides a safe, no slip surface with excellent resiliency, accurate rebounding.

Design Factors-Entrances &Exists
Entrances and exits should be well distributed ad protecting several passageways fanning out around entrances.
There should be an adequate number of entrance gates.
Minimum desirable emptying time is ten minutes
The aggregate width of aisles, passageways, ramps or corridor should equal the width of exists.
