Problems of Girl Child

• Gender disparity - Gender based inequality seep into almost every girls social, educational, nutritional health and cultural environment.
• Dwindling minority - Girls are on minority in all the development indicators like education, health and nutritional status and majority in survival indicators like mortality, morbidity
• No or low 'health and nutritional care during vulnerable years.
• Low admission and high drop-out rates
• More involvement in hazardous and non-remunerative occupations
• Early marriages and early motherhood
• Higher numbers as victims of circumstances
• Working children, street children, abused and neglected children, institutionalized children, children in armed conflict and children .in natural calamities
• Female feticides or sale of girl children
• Abuse and Trafficking
