Control measures of water pollution
|
Water remains one of our primary resources, vital to our survival on earth.
- Waste material must be disposed off properly
- Daily household rubbish can be buried or thrown away neatly to be sent to special rubbish collecting areas.
- Industrial wastes should be treated before disposal, to make sure the substances are harmless.
- Stuff like glass, paper, plastic, and metal can be recycled
- Excess use of insecticides and chemical fertilizers should be avoided as far as possible.
- Knowledge on ways of preventing water pollution and its effect on human health should be spread more widely.
- Set up effluent treatment plants to treat waste water.
- Treated effluent can be reused for either gardening or cooling purposes.
- Toxic chemicals like cyanides and heavy metals can be degraded harmlessly by some bacteria.
